Memory disclosure via unpadded SDIO transmit buffers
Published Sep 17, 2026 · Updated Sep 17, 2026
Out-of-bounds reads in Linux's btmtksdio driver allow attackers to expose kernel memory to the Bluetooth device via SDIO transfers. The btmtksdio_tx_packet() function rounds the DMA transfer length to 256-byte blocks without extending and initializing the packet buffer, exposing up to 255 bytes beyond the packet data. Exposure requires transmission through the affected SDIO Bluetooth driver; disclosure to a remote Bluetooth peer is not established.
