Kernel crash via stale TEQL device pointer
Published Sep 17, 2026 · Updated Sep 18, 2026
Use-after-free in Linux kernel sch_teql allows local users with network-administration privileges to crash the kernel via TEQL traffic. teql_master_xmit() leaves skb->dev pointing to a failed slave, and teql_resolve() can queue that packet without holding a device reference. Exploitation requires privileged TEQL setup, a failed transmission, an unresolved neighbor, and deletion of the referenced slave before queued-packet processing dereferences freed memory.
