False TPM readiness via unchecked status reads
Published Sep 17, 2026 · Updated Sep 17, 2026
Uninitialized reads in Linux Foundation Linux Kernel's ST33ZP24 driver allow local users to disrupt TPM status checks. st33zp24_status() ignores the transport read result and interprets an uninitialized stack byte as TPM_STS flags when no byte arrives. Exposure requires an active ST33ZP24 TPM and a failed or short transport read; attacker control over that failure and a specific hang or crash are not documented.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
