CVE-2026-90060

Local denial-of-service via unchecked control read callback

Published Sep 17, 2026 · Updated Sep 17, 2026

A NULL dereference in Linux Foundation Linux Kernel 5.13 ALSA controls allows local users to trigger an Oops via write-only elements. The LED state layer in sound/core/control_led.c accepts controls without a get callback and calls that missing callback in the snd_ctl_led_notify() call chain. Exploitation requires access to ALSA controls and an active LED state layer; the disclosed consequence is a kernel Oops, not data access or code execution.
