Use-after-free via rearmed disconnect timer
Published Sep 16, 2026 · Updated Sep 16, 2026
Use-after-free in the Linux realtek_cr USB-storage driver allows attackers to cause an unspecified impact by disconnecting a Realtek card reader. realtek_cr_destructor() deletes the suspend timer without waiting for its callback, which can rearm the timer after the enclosing chip object is freed. Reachability requires CONFIG_REALTEK_AUTOPM, an armed timer, and carefully timed physical disconnection; no concrete consequence beyond use-after-free is published.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
