Use-after-free via pending reset work
Published Sep 16, 2026 · Updated Sep 16, 2026
Use-after-free in the Qualcomm PMIC Type-C PD PHY driver in Linux 6.5 allows attackers to cause unspecified impact via unspecified vectors. The pdphy_stop() path disables the driver's IRQs but does not cancel reset_work, so work queued immediately before IRQ shutdown can execute after remove() releases the containing structure through devm. Reachability requires the Qualcomm PMIC Type-C PD PHY driver and a teardown race in which its IRQ handler queues reset work before device removal.
