CVE-2026-89952Hinoki check available

Out-of-bounds read via unchecked ONFI section lengths

Published Sep 16, 2026 · Updated Sep 16, 2026

Out-of-bounds read in the Linux kernel raw NAND ONFI parser allows attackers to cause unspecified impact via a malformed parameter page. The nand_flash_detect_ext_param_page() function allocates the declared page length, then reads a fixed header and walks variable-length sections without proving each access remains inside that allocation. Reachability requires a raw NAND device that supplies a malformed ONFI extended parameter page during detection; no further consequence is published.
