Stale bridge-loop claims after mesh deletion
Published Sep 16, 2026 · Updated Sep 16, 2026
Improper claim cleanup in Linux 3.5 and later allows attackers to retain stale bridge-loop-avoidance claims after mesh deletion. batadv_bla_free() nulls claim_hash before batadv_bla_del_backbone_claims() can purge claims, while batadv_handle_unclaim() can also stop when rehashing prevents a backbone lookup. The public record identifies incomplete claim deletion but does not identify an attacker-access gate or a further security consequence.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
