Device autosuspend prevention via PM reference leak
Published Sep 16, 2026 · Updated Sep 16, 2026
Resource leakage in the Linux Atlas sensor driver allows local users with IIO buffer access to prevent device autosuspend after an error. atlas_buffer_postenable() obtains a runtime PM reference, then returns when atlas_set_interrupt() fails without balancing that reference. The condition requires affected Atlas sensor hardware, IIO buffer enablement, and an interrupt-setup failure; the bounded consequence is persistent device power use.
