Unspecified impact via double SCP reference release
Published Sep 16, 2026 · Updated Sep 16, 2026
Improper device reference management in affected Linux kernel versions allows attackers to cause unspecified impact via unspecified vectors. In mdp_probe(), the __get_pdev_by_id() fallback releases the SCP platform-device reference immediately, while later cleanup calls scp_put() on the same handle again. The flaw is limited to the MediaTek MDP3 fallback path, and the upstream record specifies neither a reachable attacker action nor the resulting security consequence.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
