Kernel crash via unchecked SCP driver data
Published Sep 16, 2026 · Updated Sep 16, 2026
A NULL-pointer dereference in the Linux MediaTek MDP3 driver allows attackers to crash the kernel during device probing. The mdp_probe function obtains fallback SCP driver data with platform_get_drvdata, then passes a null mdp->scp pointer to scp_get_rproc when the SCP driver has not bound. The condition requires an MDP3 platform device with unavailable SCP driver data; public sources identify no attacker-controlled trigger beyond that probe state.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
