CVE-2026-89875

Kernel use-after-free via unquiesced overflow recovery

Published Sep 16, 2026 · Updated Sep 16, 2026

Use-after-free in the TI VPE VIP driver in Linux 7.0 allows local users to access freed stream state during capture teardown. vip_stop_streaming() releases stream resources without first draining recovery_work or synchronizing an in-flight hardirq handler. Triggering requires access to a TI VIP capture stream and an overflow or list-complete interrupt racing teardown; no higher-level impact is published.
