Use-after-free via unheld vport reference
Published Sep 16, 2026 · Updated Sep 16, 2026
Use-after-free in the qla2xxx SCSI driver in Linux allows attackers to corrupt kernel memory via unspecified vectors. In qla24xx_report_id_acquisition(), the format 1 path drops vport_slock and then updates a virtual-port object without retaining a reference, allowing concurrent deallocation to free it first. Reachability requires report-ID acquisition to race with virtual-port teardown; no privilege level or remote entry path has been published.
