CVE-2026-89853

Use-after-free via unsynchronized FCE trace disable

Published Sep 16, 2026 · Updated Sep 16, 2026

Use-after-free in the Linux qla2xxx SCSI driver allows local users to trigger invalid DMA-buffer access during a concurrent firmware dump. Firmware-dump consumers check and copy ha->fce under hardware_lock, while debugfs FCE disable freed the buffer under only fce_mutex, leaving a race between the check and copy. Reachability requires a qla2xxx-managed adapter, administrative debugfs access, and a concurrent firmware dump; no further impact is established.
