Unspecified impact via preemptible stack-buffer access
Published Sep 16, 2026 · Updated Sep 16, 2026
Race condition in affected Linux revisions allows local users to cause unspecified impact through the bpf_get_stackid helper. In kernel/bpf/stackmap.c, bpf_get_stackid reads the per-CPU buffer returned by get_perf_callchain without keeping preemption disabled, allowing another task to reuse that buffer during consumption. Reachability requires execution of a BPF program that invokes the helper; the Linux kernel record does not publish a more specific security consequence.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
