Kernel use-after-free via stale-label replacement
Published Sep 11, 2026 · Updated Sep 11, 2026
Use-after-free in AppArmor in affected Linux kernels allows attackers to trigger invalid credential access during a concurrent policy update. begin_current_label_crit_section() synchronously replaces credentials for a stale label, dropping references still needed after revert_creds(). The demonstrated trigger requires a profile disable while a profiled process is blocked in a FUSE passthrough splice; published evidence establishes a KASAN fault but no stronger consequence.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
