Unspecified impact via UVC dangling pointers
Published Sep 11, 2026 · Updated Sep 11, 2026
Use-after-free in the Linux USB Video Class gadget function allows attackers to trigger a kernel memory-safety violation during teardown. The bind error and unbind paths free the control request and buffer without clearing their stored pointers, permitting later access to freed memory. Triggering requires privileged UVC gadget configuration and an allocation-error or unbind path; upstream evidence reports a KASAN-detected read.
