Kernel out-of-bounds reads via oversized AER copy
Published Sep 11, 2026 · Updated Sep 11, 2026
Out-of-bounds reads in Linux kernel 6.7 allow attackers to read past CXL RCH AER register and header-log buffers. cxl_rch_get_aer_info() sizes an MMIO copy from a software structure that exceeds the physical AER capability, then supplies an invalid header length to pcie_print_tlp_log(). Reachability requires a CXL Root Complex Integrated Endpoint path and an AER error; the disclosed consequence is limited to invalid kernel reads.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
