CVE-2026-89721

Local service deadlock via out-of-range register dump

Published Sep 11, 2026 · Updated Sep 11, 2026

Denial of service in Linux kernel 6.15 allows local users to deadlock Rockchip Samsung D/C-PHY operations via a debugfs register dump. The driver's regmap configuration sets max_register to 0x10000 although the 64KB mapping ends at 0xfffc, causing a read of an unmapped page while the regmap lock is held. Access to the PHY's regmap debugfs registers is required; triggering the read causes a kernel oops and blocks subsequent PHY operations.
