Out-of-bounds read via stale NFSD status counter
Published Sep 11, 2026 · Updated Sep 11, 2026
Out-of-bounds read in Linux 6.7 allows attackers to trigger a kernel read beyond an NFSD operations array during concurrent request processing. Non-success exits from nfsd_dispatch leave rq_status_counter odd, so nfsd_nl_rpc_status_get_dumpit accepts mutating request fields as stable and can read past the eight-entry inline array. Reachability requires NFSD activity concurrent with an RPC-status dump; the published patch does not establish memory disclosure, a crash, or code execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
