CVE-2026-89702Network attack vector

Trace ring-buffer corruption via mismatched sockaddr lengths

Published Sep 11, 2026 · Updated Sep 11, 2026

Out-of-bounds write in Linux NFSD tracepoints allows remote attackers to corrupt trace ring-buffer data via NFSv2/v3 over UDP. The nfsd_fh_verify and nfsd_fh_verify_err declarations reserve the server-address slot using xpt_remotelen but copy xpt_locallen bytes. The write requires an enabled affected tracepoint, while the reverse mismatch exposes stale ring-buffer contents only to local trace consumers.
