Unspecified local impact via rpc_status dump race
Published Sep 11, 2026 · Updated Sep 11, 2026
Use-after-free in Linux 6.7 allows local users to cause unspecified impact via a race between NFSv4 completion and rpc_status dumping. The rpc_status netlink dump reads NFSv4 operation numbers from args->ops after nfsd4_release_compoundargs can synchronously free that vmalloc buffer. Reachability requires an in-flight NFSv4 compound to finish during a local dump; no concrete crash, disclosure, or code-execution consequence is published.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
