Unspecified impact via unpinned CephFS session
Published Sep 11, 2026 · Updated Sep 11, 2026
Use-after-free in the CephFS MDS client in Linux before 7.2.4 allows attackers to cause unspecified impact via a session race. check_new_map() releases mdsc->mutex without retaining the MDS session, allowing concurrent teardown to free it before s_mutex is accessed. Triggerability requires an active CephFS session plus concurrent map update or teardown; published material establishes neither attacker control nor a concrete consequence.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
