Kernel heap corruption via oversized HID report
Published Sep 11, 2026 · Updated Sep 11, 2026
Heap-based buffer overflow in Linux 6.14 allows local users to corrupt kernel memory via an oversized hidraw output report. write_cmd_to_txdma() copies caller-controlled report content into qsdev->report_buf without checking the device-derived heap allocation size. Reachability requires an intel-quickspi touch controller and permission to open its hidraw node; published evidence establishes controlled heap corruption but not a crash or privilege escalation.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
