Out-of-bounds access via unchecked dirty-page entries
Published Sep 11, 2026 · Updated Sep 11, 2026
Out-of-bounds access in Linux 5.15 fs/ntfs3 allows attackers to access memory outside a dirty-page entry during NTFS log replay. check_rstbl() accepts an on-disk lcns_follow count without ensuring that the trailing page_lcns array fits within its DIR_PAGE_ENTRY, so conversion and replay operations run past the entry. The flaw is reached when an affected kernel replays a crafted dirty-page table; published material does not specify whether the overrun causes disclosure, code execution, or service interruption.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
