Kernel crash via Rocket job cleanup
Published Sep 11, 2026 · Updated Sep 11, 2026
NULL-pointer dereference in Linux 6.18 allows local users to crash the kernel through a failed Rocket accelerator job submission. On allocation failures, rocket_ioctl_submit_job() releases a job before job->domain is assigned, while rocket_copy_tasks() leaves a freed task pointer for common cleanup to free again. Reaching the flaw requires an enabled Rocket driver on an ARM64 Rockchip system with a compatible NPU and a failing allocation, task copy, or buffer lookup.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
