CVE-2026-89583

Kernel-memory disclosure via advertising length drift

Published Sep 11, 2026 · Updated Sep 11, 2026

Out-of-bounds read in the Linux kernel Bluetooth EIR parser allows remote attackers to disclose adjacent kernel memory via periodic advertising. On UUID mismatches, eir_get_service_data advances its pointer but subtracts only the reported data length, leaving eir_len increasingly larger than the remaining buffer. Exploitation requires an ISO broadcast sink to process a crafted payload; matching drifted bytes can then be retrieved through BT_ISO_BASE.
