CVE-2026-89582Hinoki check available

Unspecified impact via firmware error-path double free

Published Sep 11, 2026 · Updated Sep 11, 2026

Double free in the bnx2x network driver in Linux from 2.6.31 allows attackers to cause unspecified impact after firmware initialization fails. The bnx2x_init_firmware error path frees three allocation pointers without clearing them, and bnx2x_release_firmware later frees the same pointers again. Reachability requires failed bnx2x firmware initialization followed by driver cleanup; no remote trigger, privilege requirement, or concrete consequence is published.
