Kernel memory corruption via wrapped namespace index
Published Sep 11, 2026 · Updated Sep 11, 2026
Out-of-bounds write in affected Linux kernels allows attackers to corrupt kernel memory via a crafted libnvdimm namespace index. __nd_label_validate() multiplies the untrusted 32-bit nslot value by an unsigned runtime label size in 32-bit arithmetic, so the bound wraps and accepts an oversized slot count. The field must arrive from DIMM label media or ND_CMD_SET_CONFIG_DATA; nd_label_data_init() then uses it as a memset loop count beyond the config_size buffer.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
