CVE-2026-89548

Kernel use-after-free via incomplete cleaner cancellation

Published Sep 11, 2026 · Updated Sep 11, 2026

Use-after-free in Linux kernel SUNRPC cache teardown allows attackers to dereference freed memory during network namespace cleanup. sunrpc_destroy_cache_detail() skips synchronous cancellation while other caches remain listed, allowing cache_clean() to retain a cache_detail after it is freed. Public evidence does not establish the access needed to initiate teardown or a reliable consequence beyond unsafe kernel-memory dereferences.
