CVE-2026-89511

Kernel panic via recycled NULL TPA buffer

Published Sep 11, 2026 · Updated Sep 11, 2026

NULL pointer dereference in Linux qede from commit 8a8633978b84 allows attackers to crash the kernel during TPA fragment processing. qede_tpa_start fails to assign tpa_info->buffer.data, so an allocation failure recycles a DMA-mapped descriptor with a NULL page into the receive ring. Memory pressure and later hardware reuse of that slot are required; qede_fill_frag_skb then dereferences the NULL page and panics the host.
