CVE-2026-89495Network attack vector

Cluster-node panic via unchecked migration name length

Published Sep 11, 2026 · Updated Sep 11, 2026

Out-of-bounds write in Linux OCFS2 DLM allows remote authenticated users to panic a cluster peer via a malformed migration message. dlm_migrate_request_handler passes peer-controlled namelen to dlm_init_mle, which copies that length into a fixed 32-byte slab object without a bound check. The sender must already be a member of the DLM domain; exploitation can corrupt heap memory or panic the receiving cluster node.
