CVE-2026-89485

Unspecified impact via lockd use-after-free

Published Sep 11, 2026 · Updated Sep 11, 2026

Use-after-free in Linux kernel lockd allows attackers to dereference freed memory during concurrent file traversal and release. nlm_traverse_files() saves an unpinned next-file pointer before dropping nlm_file_mutex, allowing nlm_release_file() to free that object before iteration resumes. Public upstream material does not establish the attacker-controlled trigger, required privileges, or resulting security impact.
