Remote kernel memory corruption via bundled SCTP chunks
Published Sep 11, 2026 · Updated Sep 11, 2026
Use-after-free in the Linux kernel SCTP endpoint receive path allows remote attackers to corrupt kernel memory with a crafted packet. In sctp_endpoint_bh_rcv(), cached association and transport pointers remain unreferenced after sctp_sf_do_9_2_final() deletes them, so a later bundled chunk writes through the freed transport and enters sctp_do_sm() with the freed association. The packet must reach the socket backlog in task context and bundle COOKIE ECHO, SHUTDOWN, SHUTDOWN ACK, and another chunk.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
