CVE-2026-89475Hinoki check available

Kernel use-after-free via charger-driver teardown race

Published Sep 11, 2026 · Updated Sep 11, 2026

Use-after-free in the Linux bq24257 charger driver allows attackers to cause a freed-memory dereference during charger-device removal. The remove path cancels iilimit_setup_work before its devm-managed STAT interrupt is released, allowing the threaded handler to reschedule work after the bq structure is freed. Reachability requires a bound BQ24251 or BQ24257 charger, current-limit autoset, and a STAT interrupt racing driver removal.
