CVE-2026-89472

Use-after-free via regulator teardown ordering

Published Sep 11, 2026 · Updated Sep 11, 2026

Use-after-free in the Linux charger-manager allows local users to trigger a freed regulator-handle dereference through sysfs. Teardown releases regulator handles before removing power-supply sysfs entries, while probe exposes those entries before acquiring the handles. Reachability requires charger-manager hardware and either charging during removal or a concurrent externally_control access; the published record does not specify the resulting impact.
