PCI device reference leak via PPR handling
Published Sep 11, 2026 · Updated Sep 11, 2026
Reference leak in Linux 6.10 allows attackers to retain PCI device references by triggering AMD IOMMU page-request faults. iommu_call_iopf_notifier() increments the requester's PCI-device reference count but omits pci_dev_put() after both successful reporting and abort handling. Reachability requires the AMD IOMMU PPR/IOPF notifier path and handled PPR requests; no crash, privilege gain, or data exposure is reported.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
