Internal Git force-push via stale mirror validation
Published Oct 6, 2026 · Updated Oct 6, 2026
Server-side request forgery in Gitea 1.27.3 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to reach internal Git services through push mirrors. Gitea checks a push mirror's remote address against migration host restrictions when the mirror is created, but later synchronization passes the stored address to git push without checking its newly resolved destination. Repository administrator access, including to a self-created repository, is required; a controlled hostname can then redirect synchronization to an internal Git service and force-push repository contents.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
