CVE-2026-89426Network attack vectorHinoki check available

Subscriber-to-Administrator escalation via unchecked role field

Published Sep 25, 2026 · Updated Sep 25, 2026

Privilege escalation in Knit Pay 9.6.1.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to gain Administrator access through a Gravity Forms submission. The maybe_update_user_role() function passes an attacker-controlled hidden role value from user_role_field_id to WP_User::set_role() without an allowlist. Subscriber access and a configured Gravity Forms feed are sufficient; a $0 order can reach SUCCESS, and fallback targeting applies the role to the submitter.
