CVE-2026-89425Public exploitNetwork attack vectorHinoki check available

JVM denial of service via unbounded token reporting

Published Sep 23, 2026 · Updated Sep 23, 2026

Resource exhaustion in FasterXML Jackson Core 2.8.0 through 3.2.2 allows remote attackers to crash a JVM via malformed JSON. UTF8DataInputJsonParser._reportInvalidToken() appends every identifier character to an unbounded StringBuilder instead of enforcing maxErrorTokenLength. Reachability requires a consuming application to parse attacker-controlled DataInput; a sufficiently large token exhausts heap for the JVM process.
