CVE-2026-89407Network attack vectorHinoki check available

Service interruption via quadratic numeric-string validation

Published Sep 22, 2026 · Updated Sep 22, 2026

Regular-expression denial of service in affected Jackson Core releases allows remote attackers to exhaust request threads via crafted JSON. NumberInput.looksLikeValidNumber() applies PATTERN_FLOAT with overlapping digit quantifiers, forcing quadratic backtracking when a long numeric string ultimately fails to match. Exposure requires an application to coerce attacker-controlled JSON strings into numeric target types; repeated requests can hang request handling and interrupt service.
