Unauthenticated email abuse via unchecked REST route
Published Sep 28, 2026 · Updated Sep 28, 2026
Missing authorization in Ali Norouzi WP Verify API 1.0.0 and earlier lets remote attackers store data and send verification emails. The /wp-json/wva/v1/email route accepts a caller-supplied recipient and sends a verification email without an authorization check or request limit; the advisory also reports writes to the plugin's database table. An exposed WordPress REST API is sufficient, but the reported data-writing impact is confined to that plugin table.
