Unauthenticated password overwrite via unchecked bulk action
Published Oct 11, 2026 · Updated Oct 11, 2026
Missing authorization in WP Posts Password Batch Manager 1.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to rewrite post passwords via HTTP. The always-loaded admin handler processes the bulk post-password action without capability or nonce checks, resetting or replacing passwords on every published post. An active plugin and network access suffice without authentication, exposing password-protected content or restricting post access behind an attacker-chosen password.
