Local code execution via hardcoded OpenSSL configuration path
Published Sep 22, 2026 · Updated Sep 22, 2026
Hardcoded path handling in Apache Lounge Apache HTTP Server builds before 2.4.68-260920 Win64 allows local users to execute code. The bundled OpenSSL library searches a compiled absolute path for openssl.cnf and processes a file placed there as trusted configuration. Exploitation requires local ability to create or modify that path; public sources do not establish the privileges inherited by executed code.
