Account takeover via unchecked customer password updates
Published Oct 16, 2026 · Updated Oct 16, 2026
IDOR in Dokan 5.2.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to take over customer accounts via password changes. CustomersController permits vendor-authorized profile edits without excluding the user-controlled password field, allowing replacement of a customer's WordPress login password. Exploitation requires vendor access and a customer who has ordered from that vendor; public vendor registration provides that access only when enabled, and the reported takeover is limited to those customers.
