Authenticated filter bypass via empty searchable allowlist
Published Sep 12, 2026 · Updated Sep 12, 2026
Access-control bypass in starlette-admin 0.16.1 through 0.17.1 allows remote authenticated users to filter on excluded fields. The list API's where parser fails to enforce searchable_fields when the configured list is empty, so equality and comparison predicates reach non-searchable columns. Access to an authenticated list endpoint and a model configured with an empty searchable_fields list are required; the bypass expands query filtering without establishing direct column-value disclosure or data modification.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

CVSS describes severity. EPSS estimates exploitation probability.
Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
