Cross-user asset deletion via missing ownership check
Published Sep 11, 2026 · Updated Sep 15, 2026
Authorization bypass in WWBN AVideo 29.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to delete other categories' asset directories. The categoryDeleteAssets.json.php endpoint checks canCreateCategory and a CSRF nonce, then passes a caller-controlled id to deleteAssets without the ownership check used by Category::delete. Exploitation requires canUpload and the non-default usersCanCreateNewCategories setting; it removes category icons and images but preserves records and videos.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
