Unauthenticated database disclosure via unescaped email query
Published Oct 11, 2026 · Updated Oct 11, 2026
SQL injection in Site Setup Wizard 1.5.8 and earlier allows remote attackers to read database data via crafted AJAX requests. The ssw_check_admin_email_exists handler interpolates admin_email into a users-table SELECT after sanitize_email rather than SQL escaping or parameterization. The plugin must be active and its AJAX endpoint reachable; the required nonce is published in frontend scripts, so the wizard's login requirement does not protect this handler.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
