CVE-2026-8917

Privilege escalation via untrusted IOCTL pointer write

Published Aug 11, 2026 · Updated Aug 11, 2026

Untrusted pointer dereference in ASUS GPU Tweak III, GPU Tweak II, AI Suite 3, and VGAdll allows local users to escalate privileges. An affected IOCTL handler treats an attacker-supplied address as the destination for a specific-value write, allowing memory at an arbitrary address to be overwritten. Exploitation requires high-privileged local access; affected versions are 2.1.1.7, 2.4.0.0, 2.1.2.0, and 0.0.7.8 and earlier, respectively.
