Stored XSS via unescaped plugin directory names
Published Sep 11, 2026 · Updated Sep 11, 2026
Stored XSS in Flextype 0.9.9 through 1.0.0-alpha.3 allows attackers to execute scripts in users' browsers via crafted plugin names. getValidPluginsDependencies() inserts plugin directory names into its dependency error page without HTML escaping, so markup in a directory name becomes executable page content. Exploitation requires write access to the plugins directory and a user whose browser renders the dependency-validation error page.
